As a business, you already know that your brochures, leaflets and v fold cards have a shelf-life. If you’re having PR material printed out to market a certain product or new service offering, or if you’re doing some seasonal targeting work, eventually this material will be out of date.
Of course, you want to make sure you disseminate as much of this promotional material as you possibly can, but chances are that you will have a few copies left over. What are you supposed to do with all this residual material?
Well, before you even get to this point you need to make sure that you’ve done your market research and know just where and when people will pick your printouts up from, and that you’ve reviewed your mailing lists so items aren’t sent out unnecessarily. This will help save you a lot of time and money in the long run as you’ll find you have less waste to deal with later down the line.
There’s no reason why you can’t still put your brochures and so on in certain places if they are a little out of date – just make sure that your contact information is clearly displayed in a prominent position to encourage people to get in touch.
An obvious option is to recycle what you have left over, so make sure you do this instead of just binning them. Make a point of telling people this is what you do with your out-of-date material so they know you’re a green company that cares about the environment.
