When it comes to picking out the colour schemes for your V fold cards, you need to think seriously about which shades are right for you and your company. If you get it wrong, it could be quite disastrous… so here are a few tips to help you get it right from the outset.
Firstly, you should only pick out a couple of colours to avoid assaulting people’s senses. You don’t want your brochures and leaflets to be offputting, the idea is to draw people in and colour is brilliant for doing this. However, if you have too many shades the clash can be a bit disconcerting.
Then think about what kind of message you’re trying to convey as this will help inform your decisions about the kind of colours to choose. For example, if you’re doing something nature-related, greens, browns and yellows would be good ones to go for, while if you’ve got a corporate message to deliver then a deep shade of blue would be appropriate.
What we would advise is steering clear of bright red hues, as these are quite Christmassy so only really work well at certain times of the year. What’s more, the colour is very bold and brash, and can be a bit of a deterrent where leaflet design is concerned.
It might also be worth seeing how your designs work in black and white, as this colour combination can be especially eye-catching and people these days respond really well to it. If your product offering is contemporary and targeted towards younger consumers, a black and white design could work wonders for you.
